my story

I became an apprentice in my early twenties, I loved it. I traveled all over Australia, from building a bridge in the desert to watching the Opera house at smoko.

Being a carpenter was more than just a career, it was an identity. Unfortunately, a disability took me off the tools, and I took some time to adjusting and finding a new identity. It took many years to find my feet and a lot of inwardly reflection. I tried a bunch of different new career paths, but long story short, I found my purpose as an accredited therapist.

(My first tablesaw, a 300kg cast iron 12” beast of a saw.)

I’ve gone through a fair bit, including issues with alcohol, grief, mental health issues, trying to be a good dad, and trying to run a business. I know that when things got tough for me, I went and saw a professional

and that was pretty intimidating…

(My First professional workshop, a huge milestone that was both incredible and terrifying.)

I’ve created TRADIE THERAPY to be easy and feel familiar. My goal is to provide a counselling service that removes the barriers to men getting help.

Whether I am your first step to getting more help, or just towards making some changes, all we are doing is having a chat.
